A ferroalloy plant is located in center of Kazakhstan - Karaganda

A ferroalloy plant is located in the industrial center of Kazakhstan - Karaganda. The project is implemented and financed under the state program of industrial-innovative development. The annual production of the export-oriented enterprise will allow Kazakhstan to be in the TOP-9 of the world's largest producers of ferrosilicon.

BOLAT ZHAMISHEV, CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD OF THE KAZAKHSTAN DEVELOPMENT BANK  : - We are talking about financing the first stage of the plant. Two furnaces, 96,000 tons of ferroalloys per year. The project - 34 billion tenge, a little more. The loan amount is 24 billion tenge for 11 years. The economy of the project is really impressed . High margins, which is assumed that due to income will be built the second and third stage of the project.

The launch of the first stage of the plant is planned for next year. According to the project participants, Karaganda region has all the necessary reserves for the production of ferrosilicon - quartzite, limestone, coal and scale. The main raw material will be supplied to the plant at a fixed price, it is accounted for a long period. The share of local content of the project will be over 90%.

YERLAN NIGMATULIN, PARTICIPANT "YDD CORPORATION": - The second and third stage will increase  output of the production. On the second stage production of ferrosilicon will be about 144 thousand tons per year, on the third stage-240 thousand tons per year. Our production will allow Kazakhstan to reach the fifth place in the world in the production of ferrosilicon. Our plant already has a good contract basis. We have off-take contracts for the sale of finished products with an international trader.

According to the project participants, the plant will be one of the most environmentally friendly in Kazakhstan. For example, it will install a gas cleaning system that will process industrial dust into a component used in the construction industry for the production of cement.
